The Wedding Party

We are so blessed to have many amazing people in our lives. We’d like to introduce our wedding party to you because you’ll be seeing a lot of them on June 4th. The short (and witty) bios below should help you understand how very awesome they are.  — Annie

Samantha Bullock

Matron of Honor

Samantha Bullock

Samantha

Sam and I  were involved in every single activity together in high school, but we spent the most time together on the soccer field.  Sam was the goalie, and I took down girls as a defender before they could get to her.  This is why she calls me Kujo (yes, like the rabid dog).  Sam loves Disney princesses, making fun of my shortness, and being an ICU nurse.  Sam always knows how to make me laugh and is a wonderfully loyal friend.  She is a newlywed herself, and I’m so happy to have her wedding expertise!  She loves velvet, so if you are wearing it at the wedding, be sure to give her a hug.

Elizabeth Bruce

Maid of Honor

Elizabeth Bruce

Elizabeth

Brucie was my roommate every year at TCU.  We have a lot of experience living together in a tiny dorm room.  Sophomore year, we discovered that she is a big fan of my bedtime stories.  She is one of the most patient, kindhearted people I have ever met.  Elizabeth is a pro at swimming and likes to keep her swim fins with her even though she doesn’t use them.  She enjoys running, biking, and training for triathlons.  In two short years, she will be graduating from Texas Tech as Dr. Bruce with her doctorate in physical therapy.  We agree that apples should not be kept in the refrigerator.  The real reason we are friends is because she is shorter than me.

Hannah Sandifer

Bridesmaid

Hannah Sandifer

Hannah

Together, Hannah and I are known as Hannie.  We met when I moved across the street from her in Austin in 1993.  Yes, that means we have been friends for most of our lives.  She is the sweetest, kindest, trendiest girl you will ever meet.  I look to her for advice on fashion and advice on life.  If you are looking for Hannah, you should probably check J. Crew, Anthropologie, or Anne Taylor Loft.  Hannah and I have had countless awesome adventures together.  We enjoy visiting the Trail of Lights , midnight snacks at Magnolia’s Cafe or Kerbey Lane, and making mixed CDs of our favorite jams.

Sara Spratt

Bridesmaid

Sara Spratt

Sara

Sara and I met freshman year at TCU and spent our senior year as housemates.  She is an easy-going gal and always the life of the party.  Sara is huge sports fan, especially of the Jayhawks and Horned Frogs.  She will soon be a resident of Tampa, Florida where she will pursue her career as a speech therapist.  Be sure to look for her on the dance floor – she has some of the sweetest moves you will ever see.

Anna Chavez

Bridesmaid

Anna Chavez

Anna

Anna is Andrew’s little sister and I am so excited to finally have a sister myself!  She is a freshman at TCU, so we get to hang out with her all the time now.  If you ask Anna where she would like to eat, she will say Chick-fil-a.  She likes sports, being from a small town, and being a Horned Frog.  She is responsible for the playing of the Star Wars song at her high school graduation.

Roberto Chavez

Best Man

Roberto

Roberto

Robert is Andrew’s little brother and a proud member of the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame.  He does not like USC.  He likes learning about the theology of the Catholic Church, writing long papers (not really but he does it a lot), and watching sports.  He is a great at building Lego cities.  One time he passed out on a diving board and fell into a pool.  It was funny and scary.  Ask him to help you sell your textbooks.  He is really good.

Max Landman

Groomsman

Max

Max

Max is currently in the seminary at the University of Dallas.  We are so proud of him!  He and Andrew met while working at the Daily Skiff.  He is a talented newspaper page designer.  He and Andrew have shared many White Russians and were almost roommates one summer (almost).  Max was with us at the Fiesta Bowl, the day before we got engaged!

Dan McGraw

Groomsman

Dan

Dan

Dan says inappropriate things, but that’s why we like him.  He and Andrew met at the Skiff and got to know each other when they covered the NCAA tournament together.  He is a really good cyclist, but he’s a vegetarian (bummer).  He is a major Lance Armstrong fan and worked at his foundation one summer.  He was once interviewed by Nancy Grace.  Dan is getting married to his sweetheart Liz this year!

Marcus Murphree

Groomsman

Marcus

Marcus

Marcus and Andrew met at the Skiff, and he still calls Andrew “boss man.”  He says “about” like a Canadian, but he’s from Beaumont.   He’s a very loyal friend.  He works at Neighbors Go (Skiff East).  He coaches a little league baseball team.  Marcus has had many adventures that he will gladly share with you.  We really hope he busts out the worm at our reception.

Tim Bella

Groomsman

Tim

Tim

Tim and Andrew met at the Skiff too, so he is also a journalism nerd.  He is getting his master’s in journalism at Columbia and regularly schmoozes with big names like Bill Keller, Alan Rusberger and Jay Rosen.  He’s kind of a big deal.  Tim is a die-hard sports fan.  We tend to run into him at all of the important TCU games, no matter where they are.

Keith Haymond

Groomsman

Keith

Keith

Keith is my little brother, but he’s way taller than me. He is a senior (kind of) at Texas State studying business and music. He plays the piano and trumpet beautifully and does a really good Louis Armstrong impression. You can often visit him working at the photo shop at Walgreen’s. He loves Disney movies and beating video games from start to finish. He is also learning Japanese and would like to study there for a semester. One time he jumped on the end of a rake to see if it would hit him in the head like it does in cartoons. It did.

Nick Haymond

Groomsman

Nick

Nick

Nick is my littlest brother, but he’s kind of tall now too. Nick is really sarcastic and loves to laugh (mostly at other people). If you would like to play a challenging Chess match, Nick’s your man. He likes good music and jams out pretty often. Don’t be alarmed if you smell Chinese food when you are near him. It’s because he works at a Chinese restaurant. He fries a mean won-ton. He’s really good a skipping while having a serious look on his face.

Jared Draper

Usher

Jared Draper

Jared

Jared and I have been friends since middle school, but became besties in high school. Jared likes to jump off of things, usually cliffs or bridges. You can often find Jared snowboarding, dirt bike riding, or playing disc golf. His claim to fame is that he was voted Best Dancer in high school. Jared is pursuing his master’s degree at Clemson. He is marrying his sweetheart, Lizzy, on May 14.

Bryan VanCura

Usher

Bryan VanCura

Bryan

Bryan and I met in Mrs. Schwartz’s 5th grade class and have been friends ever since. He is a stellar soccer player and played on the team at the University of San Fransisco. If you have an extra ticket to the World Cup, you should probably take Bryan with you. He once taught me how to ride a dirt bike. Bryan likes to jump off of things too and is a fab dancer. He is currently a graduate student at St. Edward’s University in Austin.
